Moxi is located by the east side of Minya Konka Range. It is called Moxi Zhen, the small town by the entrance of Hailuogou Glacier Park at the base. It is a small tourist place used to be a small village. Plenty of decent accommodations and restaurants are available. There is a small clinic in the village. A bigger hospital is in Luding, a county-level town that is 2 hour’s drive away.
From north to south there are three valleys that go into the mountains of Minya Konka. They are Nanmenguan Valley, Yanzigou Valley and Hailuogou Valley.
Nanmenguangou is a wild valley where trails change every year due to flood.
Yanzigou is a tourist park where one can drive in using park bus.
Hailuogou is a tourist park with road available to around 3000m and from there a cable car can take you up to 3700m to camp 4.

Luding
Luding is a county level town located in Garze Prefecture. It is the eastern most town of Garze and has a population of about 40,000 people. The town is 230km west to the city of Chengdu. Luding is called the gate of Tibet and usually the first town when traveling towards the Tibetan Area.
Luding town is at the elevation of 1400 meters by the riverside of Dadu River. The town of Luding is also a historical town that is now also featured with Red Army Long March Tourism. There are plenty of hotels and hostels in Luding due to the tourism development. There are also shops and hostpital available at Luding.
