Mt. Banji has two peaks, one 5430-m and the peak by west is 5415 meters. Mt. Banji is located in central part of Siguniang north to Yangmantai and Mt. Lion, south to Dahuang Mountains and on the west rdige of Bipeng Valley.
Mt. Banji is one of the frequently-climbed mountains by Chinese teams. The usual approach is from westface by Bipeng Valley. Valley by its east side is called Qianniang Valley, which has not been explored.
Base Camp of Banji is by end of road at the elevation of 3570 meters. After base camp there are usually two more camps set before summit. Mt. Banji is medium technical and is used as an intermediate summit for training for higher and harder mountains.
A trip to climb Banji can be done in a week’s time from Chengdu.
